SAFE is built on the Decentralized Emergency Management Protocol (DEMP), an open communication standard for interoperable and collaborative emergency management. Rather than relying on a central authority, it empowers individuals, communities and organizations to coordinate in real time through independent or federated safety information systems, supporting effective decision-making and action.
